ClaireClaire Harris

I’m Claire Harris, the Outreach Worker for Christopher Robin Sure Start Children’s Centre

My role within the Children’s Centre is to visit and support families in their own homes. I am available to give you advice and offer support during those first few years of your children’s lives. I can meet with you in your own home or alternatively at the Centre. I am running Play and Learn sessions within our area and really look forward to meeting you at one of the local sessions. I also work with the Home/School link workers at the schools within our area.

I have 8 years childcare experience, working in a range of settings including Day nurseries, Pre – Schools, holiday clubs and being a private nanny. I hold a BA Honours degree in Early Years and Early Years Professional Status.

Please contact me if you would like friendly, informal advice.

Lesley

Lesley Lane

I’m Lesley Lane, the Qualified Teacher here at the Children’s Centre.

I have an honours degree in Primary Education after studying for 4 years in order to be a primary school teacher.

I taught for several years in state schools with children from reception up to year 6.

After having my own two children I helped to run first aid courses for nurseries, pre-schools and primary schools. I then returned to teaching, working one-to-one with special needs children including those on the autistic spectrum and with language delays. I also worked as a supply teacher for various state and private schools in Surrey.

In my new role as Qualified Teacher within the Christopher Robin’s Children’s Centre I am looking forward to supporting the implementation of the new Early Years Foundation Stage, and supporting children in their transition to school. In addition to this I will be involved in running the ‘Play and Learn’ sessions for parents and children within the Cranleigh catchment area.

Emma

Emma Bamford (currently on maternity leave - congratulations on the birth of Samuel)

Advice Information and Guidance and Administration

I studied at University College Winchester and hold an Honours Degree in Primary Education with English.

I have previously worked in full day care with children of different ages and as a nanny for three young boys. I have recently returned to work after having my son Barnaby. I attended the Play and Learn sessions when Barnaby was small and then started working occasionally as cover staff for the children’s centre. By chance I was at the centre when my new role was being advertised and I am now really happy to be working as part of such a great team.

I currently volunteer with the local branch NCT helping to update their website and at some of their other events. Whilst running my own business in Cranleigh I became a mentor for pupils embarking on their GCSE’s at the local secondary school.

Hilary Leigh  is covering Emma's maternity leave so do pop in to the Centre on our Advice, Information and Guidance days (Monday, Wednsday and Friday) for free support with any family matter, including child care options, money matters and family life.
